Establishment and Our Missions

The establishment of the R&D at CSMU is dedicated to fulfilling the university's mission in addressing the needs of education, basic/clinical research, and health services provided by both the university and its hospital systems. The office aims to integrate resources from both the university and the hospital, coordinating development plans to optimize their utilization. Our mission includes the formulation of research and development policies, active efforts to integrate research resources, and improvements in instrumentation and equipment. We aspire to enhance the utilization of all relevant research resources within the university.

Moreover, it is our responsibility to efficiently integrate and utilize the university's teaching, research, and service resources. Our goal is to transform the university into a medical education center that prioritizes both research and teaching, serving as a hub for medical activities. Currently, the R&D at CSMU comprises four centers, including two centers with university-sponsored programs, acting as mechanisms to integrate research from various departments and laboratories. These centers play a crucial role in gradually expanding CSMU's influence in medical research.

Through these concerted efforts, we anticipate achieving tangible benefits in the fields of science and medicine in the future.

Our Organizations

In accordance with its mission, CSMU's R&D is organized into two functional units: the Research Resources Facility and the Laboratory Animal Facility. Commencing in 2022, the establishment of two university-sponsored research centers, namely the "Lung Cancer Research Center" and the "Social and Gender Studies Center," aims to delve deeper into the research capabilities of our university.

Our Goals

The primary objective of CSMU's R&D is to optimize our research environment and foster a conducive atmosphere. This involves efficiently organizing and enhancing our resources, promoting academic and research activities both on and off campus, and elevating the overall academic reputation of the university.

To achieve our goals, the following tasks will be achieved.

Designing university-wide competitive projects to steer and incentivize research initiatives at CSMU toward specific key areas.

Developing guiding policies to support our research teams in collaborating with other domestic academic institutions and hospitals.

Offering support for domestic and international conferences to strengthen CSMU's research capabilities and reputation.

Oversee and execute university-level research incentives and accolades in recognition of the research accomplishments of faculty members.

Allocate funds to financially support faculty and student participation in international conferences and short-term research projects.

These goals aim to create a conducive academic research environment, ensure the university's active engagement in collaborative efforts, and contribute to the grow
